Well then this confirms that Naka is a blue belt as the photo clearly illustrates, and not a legit black belt. Case closed.

Only white belts and really high ranked black/coral/red belts tie their belt that way.

See for yourself that it's near impossible finding a picture of a blue belt tied that way (unless you arrange it yourself) while you don't have to spend many minutes (or seconds) to find a picture of a coral or red belt tied like that.

I also suspect that almost all black belts tied that way are old photos with people now in the coral or red range. Or what is the lowest degree belt (except white) you can find a recent picture of with that kind of tying?

I would like to add the thesis that You only can find this in BJJ.
Why?
A kind of ultra-coolness?
