Never got a BJJ belt rank certificate by the coaches I had - got belts and stripes. But luckily I have the beltchecker cert ;-)

How far can you go to keap your ceremony secret ? If you don't allow people to look, it's not that funny anymore.... i was expecting to see the "Professor" 😁

Never received a certificate, never paid for a belt/grading (Not saying they go hand in hand). None in our association either.... that I know of. Pretty easy to know who's legit in our neck of the woods. Everyone knows everyone, or someone who knows someone....

Coming from the Burmese arts that had no real rank system none of this stuff really mattered to me.

When I started grading people in BJJ I made the decision to give everyone certificates for one reason. As someone who had pancreatic cancer and been given 6 months at one point I have a real understanding that i could be gone at anytime and I wanted people to have something in hand in case I wasn't around anymore.

I have a certificate for my Black Belt. But that's it.

I haven't received any certificates for blue and purple belt.
