OP wondering what the hell happened.
I am blaming this on you NOEL! LMAO...
And back on Topic..... If I were a Gym owner I would allow all into my facility. Regardless of political, social, or economic status. I actually would offer discounts to LEO, Military members and veterans as well as provide a reasonable sliding scale for those who might need the lower cost membership. My Daughters wrestling coach did this for some of his students which provided high level training to kids who could normally not afford it.

make a post in the off topic forum
I know Christian has said in the past he doesn't want any politics on Beltchecker forums, but yeah, as some people can't help themselves (and admittedly I have to zip my mouth sometimes), I think there should be a pressure valve for this stuff. Either in off topic, or a seperate politics forum.
Orrrr give me an Ignore function. I LOVE the Ignore/Block function on other social media, makes everything so much better. :P

Gym inclusivity is good and needed. Our gym is my third space. No judgment, no questions once you make it on the mats, and you can be yourself without fear. If you can't be vulnerable anywhere else, you have to accept that you are vulnerable on the mats. Sexuality, gender, race... nothing matters other than being a good training partner and becoming a better version of yourself. That a gym says specifically "no LEO" is certainly strange, even with the owner's considerate explanation.
I do dislike rolling with people who smoke, though. Just because your gi might be made of hemp doesn't mean it should smell like it.
Mike, I appreciate your perspectives. It seems you're really anti-LEO and I wish that were different. Law enforcement is a very polarizing career field where people don't want you around unless they need you to handle their crap. Kind of like a plumber, but with far less pay and more chance of suicide.

Wanted to wait a bit before I posted on the form. Scroll down for the tl:dr. I have always found jiujitsu gyms are very inclusive (generally speaking ). It doesn’t matter what race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, profession or whatever…if you want to do Jiujitsu, leave all that at the door and come on in. Some gyms even have a women’s self defense class as well as a class to aid law enforcement in de-escalation of force. And here is where the pendulum swings the other way. I ran across a Jiujitsu gym’s website (scouting different gyms while I’m on a work trip) and this one gym specifically states that in order to create a safe environment for its members…law enforcement are NOT allowed to train. I have never seen that in any of the gym’s i have ever been to or looked up. I just wanted to know thoughts on that. I get it, it’s a business, and the proprietor can refuse service but damn, that left my head scratching. Mods…if this is too hot button, feel free to remove. Tl:dr Jiujitsu gym refuses Law Enforcement personnel to train at gym Edit: Jiujitsu Gym is in the US
What gym???
