Never had a single sip of alcohol my entire life. I think I might be the only person on here that can say that. lol
No caffeine in 20 years...
But I do consume over 200 grams of sugar a day...I don't understand myself even.

I’ve acquired a taste for the Japanese whiskeys too
Had the opportunity to visit Yamasaki distillery in, well, Yamasaki, Japan... you will find they have a nice bar after taking their tour where they show the process and end with a powerpoint and teach you how to make their Highball paired with specially designed snacks that they also make. I got to try a dram of their 30yr old Hibiki... sublime...

I need to get me some of that

30yo Hibiki is super rare now and even if you find it, the sellers will be asking for top $ so probably won't be worth it. Ever since Hibiki and all iterations was rated as one of the world's best there's been a goldrush and they flew off the shelves

Recently grabbed a bottle of Early Times (Approx. $22, which is cheap as hell). It was recommended by another. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tastes. A bit cloying in sweetness, but really solid for the price point.
My all-time favorite whiskey at the moment is Angle's Envy Finished Rye. I also have a bottle of Old Forrester 1897 on my shelf that I enjoy quite a bit. Can't go wrong with Basil Hayden either. I've been trying to find a bottle of Pinhook Bourbon, but keep finding an empty shelf behind the label at our local liquor store.

Well not drinking any of these for the rest of the month. I decided I’ve “earned” a month off to start the new year. When I am drinking however I enjoy the difficulty of trying to pick from a bunch of favorites.

I love some good rum. One of my favorites at the moment is distilled not far away in Wilmington, NC. The distillery is called "End of Days" and they make a barrel rested and barrel aged. Both are delicious. I also thoroughly enjoy Diplomatico and Coconut Cartel rums.

I thought I had found my people but there's too many Scotch fans here...Got plenty of Scotch blood in me but I prefer Irish and Bourbon alchy. Never could stand a glass of Scotch.
That said, Jefferson Reserve Cognac Finish is 🤌🏼🤌🏼
Woodford Reserve Single Malt is my go-to. Bulleit Rye in honor of a good friend that died of kidney and liver failure (Bulleit related, unfortunately).

I love a good bourbon every now and then. Some of them are a bit too much on the vanilla and caramel side to be enjoyed all the time. One of my all time favorites is Booker's Small Batch cask strength, that shit was wonderful. Sadly only got a small batch to Finland years ago.
Mostly I enjoy scoth but Japanese distilleries are doing such a wonderful job atm that I've been enjoying those lately.
A few ones that are drinking nicely at the moment are:
Fuji Single Grain Whiskey
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 14yr
Nikka Yoichi Single Malt

My go to is the Glendronach 15 year. Taste better than bottles 2x as expensive.

Lagavulin Distillers Edition is my all time fav. 16yr is close 2nd. I also have the GOT edition, 12, 10, & 8 yr on standby. Other favorites include Post Askaig, Ileach, and similar Islay peated smoky drams. Not excluding others in the bar from Japanese to American selections, including unusual gift from Finland, Australia, France, and even Cambodia
We should have a roll together!

Has anyone else tried the service "Taster's Club"? My wife got me a subscription for my birthday in March. I have recieved a bottle of bourbon every month for the last 5 months and September will be my last delivery. This has been a great experience and every bottle was good to great. I was able to try some bourbons I have never heard of before from areas that shocked me.
Here is a list of what I have recieved:
Cecil + Coleman Pursuit UNITED a blended straight Bourbon 108 proof.
Black Button Distilling, Experimental Series No.4 , 96 Proof
New England Barrel Company, Small Batch Select 123.2 Proof (cask strength)
Rod and Hammers, Cask Select 100 Proof
Oregon Spirit Distillers, Cask Strength Single Barrel, 124 Proof

I like Basil Hayden, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Jefferson Small batch, and 13 colonies. The better the bourbon the less chance of a hangover, but definitely drink it slow and enjoy. If you don’t like it neat add an ice cube or a few drops of water and will change the taste.
