6-8 ish hours, two gi classes, one gi comp class and open mat. We have a few people who want more mat time with odd schedules and i'm thinking about opening up the gym on sundays for a few hours to teach a bit and drill. So that'll put me at 10ish hours a week.

Hey Angelo,

I train twelve hours per week including three hours per week of open mat. I do an additional two hours per week of strength training and another four hours per week of cardio. I attribute all this training to wanting to get my money’s worth (gym membership is expensive), and also to being single and having no dependents 😊 Hoping to increase to fourteen hours per week but will need to find another job to do so

I AM A JIU JITSU JUNKIE!!!

At the moment I do 3.5hrs five times a week plus 2-3 S&C sessions per week and some yoga in between.

But I am also 20-something and at a place where I am my own boss and can manage a lot of training. Also had times where I was happy to go 2-3 times a week.

I average anywhere from 11 hours a week (this year) to the last couple of years being 15 -20.

I count teaching, classes, and rolling as training and track since a year into blue belt my mat time. I find it keeps me accountable.

Tricky question for a coach lol

Teaching time: 7hrs p/w
Actual sparring: 5hrs p/w
On the mats during other classes: 3hrs p/w

Total: about 15hrs p/w on average ingesting and training Jiu jitsu.

Lately, I average two 90 minute sessions a week plus S&C another 2 hours per week. Before I had a family I was doing 4-5 classes a week plus occasional striking classes as well.

I try to do some form of technique study each day, whether that be watching instructionals or developing technique ideas I think could work on the mats. That helps me get the most of my limited training time.

I train in average 6-8 hours a week, as a 39 years old that is what my body allows me considering I am also into body building.

Depending on the goal the times change.
If I'm competing I do 2 to 3 hours a day.
Normally 6 hrs a week. About to open a gym so that's gunna jump to 21 hrs a week.

I’ve aimed at getting into Class 2x a week over the last month so i average about 2hrs/Week on the Mat (10 Live Rounds). I add as well about 3hrs/week in Lifting & Conditioning to total up to 20hrs/month in focused training.

My BJJ training has fallen off of late due to a couple of injuries. I still teach a couple of classes and have continued my strength and conditioning for the most part, though.

The past 7 months I would usually train around 7 to 10 hours.

Last year Inwas a full time, so Inwas clocking between 18 and 22 hours with wrestling included. Hoping to get back to that level or close to it. But at my age...

Haven’t trained since the start of April but when I’m in full flow, 6hrs per week does me fine. Thats just BJJ.

I probably do 6-8hrs per week of ‘gym’ and ‘recovery’ stuff alongside that.

When I’m well.

at the moment with work in the way, do about 2 classes a week. Their an hour and a half so 3h per week of mat time. May be why I've been a white belt for 3 years haha.

I teach three sessions per week.
They range from 2-3hours+ per session... So anywhere from 6-9/10 hours.
Approximately 3 of those hours are rolling.

I still suck though🤔... I'll have to get stronger and do techniques faster... With all the spare time I have! 🤣

My gym offers 3 sessions a week, each about 1.5 hours long. Unfortunately, due to work I'm not always able to make every session. Still, I've been trying for years to get on the mat as often as I can and take part as much as possible. Luckily, I've managed to stay injury-free so far.

I am 63 and just started jiu jitsu in March. I have a lot to make up for so I attend every class my gym offers including mornings and night classes. Not including training at home with my dummy I train between 10-13 hours a week. I'm addicted!!

Somewhere between 6 and 10. I am lucky enough that I ditch out on my lunch break and get the afternoon class and come back in time to eat lunch at my desk for my late afternoon meetings. Most of the team I work with are in Europe and elsewhere around the globe, so my mornings are typically the busiest.

Between my day job as a therapist and being a dad i barely get on the mats, but i try to maximize that time with research and lesson planning at my desk in between clients.
I teach three 6am classes, and sometimes I make myself available for 5am private sessions.
I'd take 3 or 4 good hours on the mat over 10 hours where my heads not in it anyday.

Bench warmer at the moment. Had an ORIF surgery on my right little finger after I suffered a fracture and dislocation while training less than two months ago. But I typically train 3-4 times a week and rarely sit rounds out.
