JiuJitsu journey continues. Jason Wooodard who I first trained with in 2016 has been actively mentoring me. I trained at his academy at Westside Athletic Blackflag until they recently merged with Soundside which is closer for many of us to drive to. I still train with the Birdcage every week.and teach there when given the opportunity. Sixteen years training, close to 50 years old and I am still here enjoying my friends on the mats and the tough grind of the gentle art.

I have been training and teaching at USCG base since 2016 (first at base gym then later at Birdcage) as a purple belt due to a move from Virginia to North Carolina. The USCG community here in NC has brought in many BJJ practitioners and is where I met Mario Estevane who I have held in high esteem and sought guidance from. I continue to train with the USCG jiujitsu club, and I am thankful to continue my journey helping spread jiujitsu to my community.

My introduction to JiuJitsu was with Patrick Fleming(Purebred Blackbelt) while living in Guam. I trained with Purebred(Head Instructor Stephen Roberto) from 2009 until 2012 and competed twice in Marianas Open. I later moved to Virginia Beach in 2012 and started to train under Gustavo Machado at his headquarters.
