First started in BJJ/Judo as a 12-year-old, took a break to play some basketball and soccer before picking it back up again as a 14/15-year-old. Got my blue belt at 16 and started off strong with tons of BJJ, MMA and Muay Thai. Had an MMA fight in April 2009 as a senior in HS, and Fall 2009 I moved to San Antonio for a year and a half for college. While there I trained at RPBJJ, taught BJJ/MMA fundamentals at the university rec center, and formed part of the UTSA Wrestling club team for a year where I also competed in club duals against other TX club uni teams. Also received a few of stripes on my blue from Rodrigo Pinheiro while living in SA. Returned to Houston to my OG gym in Jan of 2021. Received my purple belt while pledging a frat during my first semester at UH. By this time I was sticking to BJJ 90% of the time with a Muay Thai or MMA class here and there. Graduated college as a purple belt in May 2013. Did my bucket list trip of training/competing in Rio in July 2013 where I stayed at Connection Rio, trained at Gordos, and competed in the IBJJF Rio Open. Did some other local comps at purple belt as well, won some and lost some. Promoted to brown belt in Sept 2013 as a recent grad while trying to figure out what to do with my life. Ended up moving to the south of Spain in September of 2014 as an English teacher where I prioritized traveling and partying with some training sprinkled in here and there. Competed in the 2015 Euros at where I lost by an advantage. Got to train in Copenhagen during a winter trip where I met the BJJ Globetrotter himself Christian. Moved to Madrid in October of 2015, where I found my current gym, Instituto de Artes Marciales. Got my black belt in June 2019 after a whirlwind of a time at brown belt, life goal accomplished. Promoted to 1st-degree black belt in May of 2022. Received my 2nd degree in November 2025, never thought I´d become a black belt much less get degrees.
