"Too many red flags here, besides your promoting instructor only claiming to be a 1:st degree BB on Beltchecker, so shouldn't promote others to BB anyways. That is besides him claiming a lineage starting with "Mitsuo Marsala" (any connection to Chicken Marsala?) who supposedly taught Carlos Gracie. And lineage ending with Carlson Gracie, who he absolutely did not get his BB from. There is also mentioned a Samuel Puccini Carlson Gracie Team, but don't get a single google hit, even searching for "Samuel Puccini" BJJ. So it's really up to you to provide a correct lineage and evidence showing your BB degree is from a legit 2:nd degree BB or higher."
Samuel Puccio is the correct spelling.

If never seen the marsala thing. That's kinda funny FR

I've added my ibjjf stuff. Our crew switched to Raposo BJJ for convenience two years ago. Birmingham is a long way from Slidell. Anything else you need to see?

Ok, so not La Bohème writer Puccini after all :-) Would still need the full lineage of Brian (as of his original BB). Also an explanation for a 2024 promotion to BB by Brian when he's still in 2025 a 1:st degree BB (see photo on Franklin Bey's profile).

Brian is the one who tied the belt on, but the authority to do so came from Erick Raposo, who, as you can see in the pictures, was present and in approval. I started under Brian and Erick wanted him to tie it on. Same with Frankie Bey and Chad Hamm.

Anything else you need to adjust the vote on my, Frankie's, and Chad's profiles?

If Brian doesn't have "the authority to do so", he should not be the one promoting to BB. You all have written Brian as promoting instructor though and there's no evidence added showing anyone else than Brian promoting you. So first thing would be to change promoting instructor for BB to Erick Raposo (Brian can still be written in the free text below as a junior co-promoter). Then add evidence of Erick promoting you plus add lineage(s) in the designated field. Erick himself is easy enough to verify: https://www.bjjheroes.com/bjj-fighters/erick-raposo

I correct myself here, as it looks like Erick on your pics. Do you have any social media posts etc. from the promotion, which you can link to, as the pics are more of together-with-pics? With changed promoting instructor, it would still be enough for removing the down vote.

Here's some advice on evidence: https://www.beltchecker.com/forum.php?p=read&type=1&id=68628&page=2

That seems like a big technicality for us to redo everything. I've responded to you with all the information you requested. I'm not going to dishonor my instructor in that way. I'm an ibjjf provisional (gotta wait the required two years) black belt under Erick. Brian promoted me with the authority that Erick provided. That's all that is required for the ibjjf, that's all that should be required for anyone.

Here is a video of the promotion where Prof Erick hands Brian the belt to promote me.

Your choice. I only vote for what you write in the promotion history and provide evidence for (i.e. I vote on correctness of the provided information, not just correctness of the claimed degree itself). With changes to promotion history, all previous voters are re-prompted and can easily just verify the last text they sent with a verification, so you can quickly get back up at 1000+ vote points again plus more easily get more points, if that's important.

I'll consider it.

I agree the video is excellent evidence that it was a co-promotion. You don't have that many points yet anyways, so how about just adding both in the Promoted by field? Also no problem with showing Brian in the lineage. Do the others also have video or some kind of other confirmation from Erick?

Other than him verifying my rank with the ibjjf and being in that video??? That isn't enough?

I added a comment to my promotion history that should be sufficient.

Senior BB:s do themselves sometimes claim they can "give" their authority to someone else, but that could just as well go down to blue belts promoting black belts. And IBJJF would perhaps be fine with that, as long as it's "signed off" by a senior BB. Personally, I look at who was the promoting instructor. Junior BB together with a senior BB is fine by me whereas "lending" the authority necessary is not and I really think that should be handled differently. Just as I did before I had the degree necessary to promote my students to the belt they should be at. And that was not disrespectful to me, just making sure the degrees were universally recognized by following the most widely accepted protocol.
