Bio
I have been in the martial arts since I was a young child, moving in and out of different styles. Judo, Wing Chun, Kick Boxing and finally landing on Jiu Jitsu. Proud to be representing the garage style Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I learned at The Training Yard, now at my own studio Mentality Martial Arts.

ARCongrats on your promotion!
ロI just found out when a bridge has been established, staying glued to your opponent ("sticky hands" principle, CHI-SAO) will process info faster through contact than through the eye.
JRGood lessons today! Shark tank was great for conditioning too.

Haueter seminar, I am down on the right. We weren’t photographers, just animals!
With the communities support I was able to expense for some professional grade mats.
If I told you this was the first time I taught jiu jitsu on a tarp I’d be lying.
Getting the sign up at the studio was it’s own thing. I had no idea how expensive signs can be, even for a simple one like this. Although you can’t tell in the picture, I love this sign.
A picture of me and my most recent kids class at the TapOut Cancer competition here in Jax.
This was December 2016, drilling arm bars with this young kids, now he’s a young man and a high school wrestler. Proud of him too continue grappling in his life.
That’s me on the left, silver medal in Judo over two decades ago
A night teaching some throws. Big hip toss from a belt grip. This has been a strong throw of mine for some time.Promotion history

While I likely won't wear this rank on my belt until someone awards it to me. I like to use beltchecker as a journal of progress.

Brown belt
December 11, 2017Jacksonville Florida, The Training Yard
Promoted byDean GrantBy this point in my Jiu Jitsu life, I had let go of the idea of being promoted from purple belt, I was proud of my purple belt and fought my hardest to achieve that rank. This brown belt came as a big surprise and represents to me the purpose of why we train, its not for a belt its for the path.
