My introduction to Martial Arts was in Jeet Kune Do as a child. I competed once and stopped training shortly after. I went on to play football in High School and didn’t try another Martial Art until the end of my senior year when I started boxing. I had one boxing match sanctioned by our school as a part of two students’ senior project- training class mates to box who would fight at the end. This was an actual introduction to striking arts for me but I didn’t pursue it long after the match. It wasn’t until more than ten years later that I developed an interest in, or fear of, Jiu Jitsu, and I knew I had to pursue that feeling. I had my first 8-10 classes at Impact Jiu Jitsu before moving cities and finding Stronghold Jiu Jitsu, run by Seth Murray. I have been training there, with a handful of great training partners, since November of 2024. And I'm having a blast.
