Bio
I started my jiu-jitsu journey in 2017 at a Gracie University school with a focus on self-defense. However, my interest quickly shifted toward the sport side, leading me to a Clark Gracie affiliate where Budo Jake became my primary coach. During my time in Irvine, CA, I also cross-trained at a 10th Planet school with Joe Murphey. When I moved back home to the St. Louis area, I joined the local Gracie Barra and began training under David Derstine. I have been with him ever since, consider him my primary coach at Next Level. Along the way, whenever I visit family in China, I make sure to train with my friend Jerry Sonenarong, who was kind enough to co-promote me to black belt. I am currently living in Orlando, and training at Champions Jiu Jitsu under Jayson Patino.

Promoted byTogether withJerry SonenarongCONFIRMED
WTThe promotion took place at a Gracie Barra academy that David co-owned. However, because he was in the process of transitioning to open his own gym, the certificate bears the name of his new school, Next Level. I was happy to be co-promoted by my friend Jerry Sonenarong. Check my profile description for more info on my journey.
