I started training jiu jitsu in 2009 at Potential Unlimited Mixed Martial Arts on the Gold Coast, Australia. After moving to the UK, I continued training and was recently promoted to brown belt at Thrive by Rob Olivier and Mark Day at Thrive jiu jitsu. I’m the owner and head coach of Ely MMA, where I teach no-gi grappling and MMA full time. Jiu jitsu has been a huge part of my life for nearly 18 years. I’ve had the usual mix of injuries, setbacks, doubts and detours, but I’ve always kept my love of the game alive. My main goal now is to keep improving, keep training, and help build a room full of good, technical, respectful grapplers.
