Bio
I started training wrestling and BJJ in high school around 2005, and since then I've trained on more than 70 mat spaces around the world, teaching often along the way, sometimes at BJJ Globetrotters camps. I have competed in Judo, BJJ, Wrestling and Sambo. I also hold the rank of sandan (3rd Dan) in Judo (achieved in December 2025), registered with USA Judo. Before black belt promotion, I was the 11th most trusted brown belt on beltchecker. Used to be higher–I'm the 62nd profile ever on this platform, I think.

White belt
February 3, 2006Vandry BJJ (Austin, TX, USA)
Ben Williams dragged me along sometime in early 2006, when I was in high school; I can't remember how I finally calculated this exact date, hard before the era of smartphones. I know he got his blue belt on my first day. I trained for 6 months, then 6 months later for 1 month, and then didn't really train for another 6 or 7 years. This pic of me is sometime between 2009 and 2011, wearing my original gi for halloween. I was technically a white belt at the time of photo, only picture of me as a white belt in a gi in existence I think.

"Trained with Kyle years ago when he was a purple and he was already better than many black belts then. So now, it's a definite yes. "
"Know Kyle from several camps! Congratulations on the promotion."
"Nice pictures and certificate 👌🏻"
"I met and trained with him at both his former gym in Asheville and at Globetrotter camps. Really solid Judo. He now runs beautiful club in Colorado teaching excellent Judo and Jiu Jitsu. Legit black belt."
"Verified. Have trained together at Globetrotters camp."
"I know Kyle as a very talented judoka. I worked with him briefly when he was getting ready for his black belt in judo, and his ground work was excellent as well as his standing technique."
"legit profile. nice work! Congrats on the promotion!"
"I have rolled with Kyle when he was a purple belt, and he was super tough. Thankfully we didn't start with tachi-waza, because he would've thrown me through the mat. Welcome to the black belt club!"
"Globetrotters & Asheville. Kyle has great skills and teaching ability. And he saved my life :)"
"Legit Profile congrats on the Black"
