My name is Forest Ty Brookover. I go by my middle name, Ty. I live in Garden City, Kansas. I began training martial arts in 1996 and have been traveling to Oklahoma City and training with Rafael Lovato Sr. and Rafael Lovato Jr. since March of 2014. We began to bring Rafael Lovato Sr. from Oklahoma City to Garden City in 2016 at which time we officially began holding formal classes under his guidance. At that time, we were holding classes within our member Joey Kelch's crossfit gym. We would eventually move our mats to a building that I own nearby. We joined the Lovato Jiu Jitsu Association in 2019. I am proud to say that I was promoted to brown belt by both both Sr. and Jr. together at our annual Lovato Jiu Jitsu Association meeting in Oklahoma City, OK on Oct 27th, 2022. Rafael Lovato Sr. continues to travel and teach class here in Garden City 2-3x a month. We operate privately and under a non for profit mentality. Our goal is to hold our student head count at around 50 students. Please let me know if you are looking for opportunities to train BJJ in Southwest Kansas.
