"Rob really shouldn't had promoted anyone to BB in 2020 as he himself was promoted to BB in 2019, according to his own profile. Not even Rob's own instructor (BB in 2015) should had promoted anyone to BB in 2020 (thus not Rob in 2019 either)."

Nyh, Stop this nonsense, Dustin is a legit black belt. Who made you ultimate authority?

Johan
Christian made me ultimate authority of my 175 vote points on Beltchecker! ;-P But seriously, Dustin is under Carlinhos lineage. Is it really news that Carlinhos (BB in 1977) is a clear proponent of the 2:nd degree BB to promote to BB:s standard? So if not him, who along Dustin's lineage is the authority deciding a no degree BB last year is enough to promote some one to BB?

Honestly I know a bunch of bb1 that promoted other Black belts but had the ok and blessing by their higher up. Robson moura, Bruno Bastos, etc. Does it m they not be able to make it out there but the authorize the promotion. That's something that people don't take in account. It's not for your to question it. Whom ever is the linage would be the standing vote. He got ok'd for the black belt this is just for his 1st degree which is based on active time. That ship of questioning has past 3 years ago really. But to each is own.

For the initial BB, you claim "He got ok'd for the black belt", but there's not even a claim on the profile that it was ok'd by someone else than Rob. If it's not for me to question it, is it for you to presume without anything to support it or without even a single claim it is so? If you want to claim someone 2:nd degree or higher in 2020 was the actual promoting instructor (or even "ok'd"), who are you then talking about? Carlos Gracie Jr?

Shawn, I actually have no problem with a 1:st degree giving another 1:st degree a time based stripe. Or a promotion by e.g. "Rob Richardson (no degree BB) together with Carlos Gracie Jr (8:th degree CB)", as long as you provide evidence. Heck, I'd even up vote you being promoted by "Sample Sampleson (blue belt) together with Master Masterson (9:th degree RB)", as long as you're being transparent and have evidence. Then you can call it "ok'd by" or whatever you like when I'm not around.
