So if you got the opportunity, who would you either want to have a seminar with or go to thier hosted seminar or have a private teaching and roll with in the whole bjj community?

Private with Roger Gracie or Demian Maia. Met both, been to their classes and I feel they would have tons to offer.

Would love to go to Chris Haueter or Jean Jacques Machado seminar. I hear they are fantastic.

Chris Hauter was the very first seminar I ever went to as a white belt and it was awesome, still one of my faves. Kurt Osiander was also tremendous!

Both taught lots of old school mean stuff, which is right in my wheelhouse.

For me, I'd love to do a lesson with Pete "The Greek" Letsos - known for wristlocks, and I'd love to train with Marcelo Garcia as well for the butterfly . I have learned a ton of stuff from very many seminars, so I'd love to meet many people and train, if I can get 1 thing it was worth it to me.

I have been lucky enough to attend seminars with Ricardo Liborio, Ricardo Cavalcanti, and Amaury Bitetti who were all close friends and training partners to my first professor. There are a few that I would love to have private lessons with, in no specific order: Mikey Musumeci, John Danaher, and Chris Hauter, Gordon Ryan, and Megaton Dias... dang there are so many more I could list...

I'd rather go to a camp, not a big fan of private lessons or seminars. Though of the private lessons I've done in the past, Aaron Milam was really good, so I'd take another one from him.

I would find it hard to pick somebody else to get a private with, as I don't know how good they are at teaching private lessons. Aaron I already know is good at them.

Same for the private. I’ve been to a seminar with Chris and it was well worth the money and 6-hr drive.

What do you realistically expect from a private class?

A meet & greet with one of your heroes?
A totally new game?
A new concept that you can click-on what you already know?
A few little details that make a technique more effective?
All of the above?

For me, I have never taken a private class. I just keep nagging people I respect for valueable insights.

It can be anything. That's really a good thing about private classes. Maybe you just want to get beat up/dominated for 60 minutes? A private jiu-jitsu class is a bit cheaper than a dominatrix, probably.

Coincidentally, I'm going to be attending my first private class tomorrow. There's a dude who beat my ass in a competition match, almost exactly a year ago, and he's really good at taking people's backs.

I have been working a number of back take systems in my free rolling time, but haven't gotten anything to stick yet, so I have a number of very specific questions I want to ask this guy.

I enjoy watching my former students teach, especially when they are going over something they have been working on in an area that I did not specialize in, nor showed them.

There is nothing cooler than learning something, as a student, from someone who was your student, and they have in the area they are teaching, surpassed you, or exceeded you.

Even cooler when they teach it in a manner that it is consistently accessible by the other people in the room.

That, combined with seeing them be successful off the mats, is one of the most rewarding parts about being a part of the BJJ community.

Two of my favorite people are David Adiv and Angelica Olivera. I first met them at a seminar when I was 10. They left an impression. Recently visited them in NJ for a few classes and was fortunate enough to get a couple rolls in with Angelica. No doubt a Jiu jitsu highlight for me.

Although my friends and teacher learned from Mauricio Gomes (and Roger Gracie), I haven’t had the opportunity to learn from Mauricio and Roger yet. Would be cool!
Also I definitely would take part in camps and seminars with Chris Haueter.
I really love the details of Jiu Jitsu fundamentals these guys understand to teach in depth and their knowledge and experience.
