Felipe Thiago (blue), Hercules Pereira (purple), Marcia Brum (brown)

Lived in: - Wichita, KS, USA - Murcia, Spain - Zurich, Switzerland - Kauai, HI, USA - Champery, Switzerland - Murten, Switzerland And I am about to move again. If you ask about my lineage, I don't have a consistent, singular, one. I started BJJ in Zurich under Felipe Thiago "Broa" da Silva in his gym in Zurich and then at Wallisellen, who gave me my Blue belt, just before the birth of my first child. His gym can be found here: https://carlsongracie.ch/. Then I moved to HI and trained inconsistently there under the wise and watchful eyes of Pono Panaganam, who was given his Black belt by Pedro Sauer. His site can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/[...]institute/. During Covid I moved Back to Switzerland and started training inconsistently, first at BJJ Karakara in Bern, which wasn't far from my work place. That gym no longer seems to have an active website, and the black belt owner at the time was Hercules Pereira da Silva. He moved back to Brazil a year or two after I left due to an injury and the birth of my second child. Right before that, he gave me my purple belt. When I restarted training after my son hit around 2 years old, I was going once a week to Hara Sport in Murten, where I live. They had 1 BJJ class on Wednesday evenings. When that class was canceled due to low turnout, I started doing Judo there and have an orange belt with the club. This is their website: https://www.hara-sport.ch[...]ex.php/de/. But the BJJ itch never stopped, and I've been training fairly regularly at BJJ4Life in Avenches: https://www.facebook.com/[...]876743627/. I am currently updating / creating their website. The club manager Marcio gave me my brown belt just recently in Sep 2026.
