After recently getting my black belt I was pondering how best to display my belts. I previously had them tied to a railing in my house but I've opted for having them all rolled up in a shadow frame. How have you done yours?

That looks pretty damn cool. But I have nothing else to contribute, never displayed anything, lost or gave away my older belts.

Thats pretty dope. I may have to steal your idea one day when I earn my black belt. Very cool!

I don't display anything related to my martial arts practice at home or even at the gym I coach at. No medals, trophies, certificates, belts on show. It's a personal preference. I keep some of my old belts on a shelf and give them away to students when they have earned it.

I used to do the same thing with my old rank insignia. If I promoted someone that I thought I had a particular connection with I promoted them with my old insignia. I always thought that was a nice touch and they all seemed to appreciate it.

I promote my students on special occasions with my old belts. That way, I can watch my old belts "live on" :)

For example, I recently promoted my wife to purple belt with my old belt, which was very meaningful, as we started our gym together when I was a purple belt.

You did. I've seen it around, always like it for being a clean non-messy display. (there's an example in the other thread).

Very cool, I wouldnt mind displaying something like this in my studio, it really shows the progression of jiu jitsu and how white belt and blue belt form the core of what you do on the mats and the upper belts form shells around that core.

Normally I’d hang medals from the swords, at some point I’ll throw either my BB or a sacrificial one up there and probably lay them all flat.
